1 box of cake mix (any flavor) baked according to box (We love the cherry chip cake mix and also the yellow)
1 can (16oz) of frosting (any flavor )
1 package of Meijer candiquik melting chocolate (chocolate or white chocolate)..this is also called chocolate bark.
Bake cake mix and allow to cool, then crumble cake mix into large bowl (you will want the crumbles to be small) and mix in about 1/2-3/4 of the can of frosting…you want to add a little at a time until you get a cookie dough consistency.
Place mixture in refrigerator to stiffen for a little while and then make into 1 inch balls and place into freezer for a bit.
They need to be really chilled or frozen for them to stay together and for the chocolate to harden well.
Melt chocolate according to directions and dip cake balls into chocolate with toothpick or egg separator.
You can go nuts from here…literally..you can drizzle them with a different color chocolate, dip them in sprinkles, nuts, candy cane pieces…you name it. So fun to try and quite easy too. Kids and adults love them!
